Teddi Cassity's Bio

Teddi Cassity’s singing career has spanned over twenty years in various styles of music: jazz, blues, folk, classical, and sacred.  She is a classically trained mezzo-soprano & an honors graduate of California State University Northridge majoring in Music Education, with a choral concentration.  Ms. Cassity is the recipient of the College of Arts, Media, and Communication Dean’s Award. While attending CSUN, she performed for two years with the internationally acclaimed Northridge Singers.  A certified cantor for the Los Angeles Archdiocese since 1996, Ms. Cassity also runs a private voice studio in Simi Valley, as well as performing in a blues and a folk band. Both groups will release CDs this spring.  Her musical influences include Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Chet Baker, Nat King Cole, Jo Stafford, Joni Mitchell, and Linda Hopkins.
